Bastards at Cyclemania

For those of you that don't know, Bastards Saskatoon is a Lowbrow customs club. We are not a motorcycle club, we are not a "gang" we are a brotherhood of drunken/weirdo gearheads/artists/assholes with common interests. We are into bikes and cars, throwing the odd kegger/punk rock show and just plainly having a good time. Heres our line up of custom bikes we had at cyclemania this year, again just a small facet of what the club is about. but i must say it is an impressive line up none the less. and we left with four pieces of shiny decoration for our efforts. Big thanks to the organizers of the event.

Cyclemania

Won 2nd place Bobber class! Thanks to the guys for taking the bike down for the sow abd setting it up. Unfortunately i was about 5 hours north in camp for work and couldn't be around for the show. Trophies aren't a big deal to me but is cool to get some recognition for my efforts.

TANK

Well the tank is finished and it is beautiful! Done by my good friend Darren "Csik" Wolfe of Kontrast Studios. Countless hours of labour and over 60 coats of clear in total, it is truly a masterpiece in my eyes. Thanks alot brother.

wiring 101

ok my first attempt at wiring a motorcycle, if you know me, you know that i hate electricity and wiring and everything that goes along with it, altho i must say i am getting much more comfortable with it. Basic, basic basic. that was my three rules for this wiring job, so basic i went. Headlight, taillight, horn and two toggle switches. Thats it. kick only, no signals, mini battery, no tach no speedo no nothing! the cops are gonna have a heyday with me. i ran all wires thru the frame, converted to a late model regulator rectifier, it think i did a pretty decent job. motor has been installed and assembly is well under way. heres a few pics. The bike will be at cyclemania in Saskatoon on the 19th-20th, unfortunately i wont be as i will be in camp at work. So go check it out along with the rest of the boys bikes and let me know what you think. no pics of the tank till after the show, cuz its that good. you need to see it in person my freinds.

Paint and assembly

Ok well i am probably the worst blogger there is, seeing as i post about once a month on average. But regardless heres the update on the bike. CSIK blasted the frame, he then taught me the finer points of applying/sanding bondo and i tried my best to smooth out the frame to perfection. When i was done, csik finished the job. Next up we went down to Novakoski with the multi talented darren "CSIK" Wolfe, the guy is a life saver. Two and a half cases of beer, a few pieces of pizza, another case and a half of beer and we had my frame and rich's tins glistening in a fresh coat of rally black. This was also after rich dropped his brand new tank on the concrete, denting the side of it, repairs were done, beers were drank. We had a blast. Oh i also got my first glimpse of my tank all i can say is that i near orgasmed at first sight, and its not even done yet!! Darrin has gone WAY above and beyond and it is going to blow minds, go to cyclemania to check it out, it will truly be a mastpiece. heres some pics of the evening.

The Evil Genius

Helped Cash test run the new pipe bender he built, and it works amazing! Completely hand fabricated frame, aluminum cast dies, the man is a genius. We had to work out a few kinks but in the end it worked beautifully on this piece of 1" schedule 40 pipe. very cool.

Bars are finish welded, ended up taking out another 2.5 inches!! i fucked up and got the wrong guy to weld them the first time, buddy made a huge mess, not his fault i thought he was more capable then he actually was. Dylan down at the shop hooked me up, did a beautiful job. I love the width we ended up with anyways, turned out great.
